The mark
A crimped seal, with the M cut out of the band.
A marchamo is the lead seal a customs officer closes over goods: a closed thing that shows when it has been opened. The mark is that object, not an abstraction of it.
Using the mark
Leave clear space on every side equal to the seal’s radius, about a third of the mark’s width. Minimum size is 24 pixels; below that use the favicon, whose strokes are thickened to survive. Do not stretch it unevenly, rotate it, add a shadow, recolour the knockout to anything but the ground behind it, or place it over a busy photograph.
Colour
One accent, spent in one place.
The neutral is a grey biased toward the accent rather than a default grey. Light-theme values shown; the dark-theme pairs are in the stylesheet.
Three colours the brand never uses
Green, amber and red already mean something here: they are the verdict a shopper sees when they scan a label. If marketing also used them, a promotional page and a recall notice would start to look alike. They stay reserved for the verdict, permanently.
Typography
Three faces, each doing one job.
All three are open licence and self-hosted on this domain. We never load fonts from a content network, because that would send every visitor’s address to a third party.
